Finally after many years and a lot of money invested, the maxi multi-storey car park will open in Piazza Garibaldi in Naples inside the station, not far from the train platform for arrivals and departures. This is a big milestone, a structure that will be very useful to anyone who will have to stop there both for a few hours and for several days because they are about to leave for some time.
The inauguration is scheduled for July 13 2022.
It is carried out by Grandi Stazioni Rail, a company of the Italian FS Group and co-financed by the Ministry of Infrastructure with total funding of 11 million euro.
The parking lot will be a real hub for the eco-sustainable mobility, green, equipped with points for the charging for electric vehicles and also free parking areas for those who have to stay for a maximum of 15 minutes.
But let's take a closer look at the characteristics of this awaited parking lot.
The parking spaces and the three floors of the maxi car park
The maxi parking is built on three floors and the total consists of 359 car seats:
- al first floor there is a reserved area for the disabled, there are also the pink stripes for pregnant women and parking spaces for motorcycles;
- al second and third floor there are other rest areas for everyone with a terrace overlooking Vesuvius and the skyscrapers, a beautiful view to take your breath away.
An intermodal parking with green services
The inauguration on 13 July will take place in the presence of the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca and will be simultaneously with the presentation of a new RFI plan. This is the project that provides that all the Italian stations that are located along the main railway line of the country become real intermodal hubs.
Even the parking in Garibaldi Station will follow this model and will become an intermodal hub not only with rest areas, but also services for the exchange of green means of transport such as trains and car sharing. In addition to Naples, projects of this type will also be present in Roma Termini and in the Milan station, where it has already been inaugurated.
It will therefore become a new fundamental step forward to improve green and ecological mobility in Naples because there will also be charging points for electric vehicles, car sharing and space for bicycles. You can leave your car parked and decide to take the train or rent a car, use car sharing or take the metro.

The entrance and exit are located at Southern Course, near the "Binario Calmo" hotel.
How to reach the parking
Il the most common route is the one for Corso Novara, turning right at Corso Meridionale. For those who are not practical, just walk along the front of the station, pass Burger King and at the first street turn right, after about 250 meters the entrance is on the right.
Parking hours
The car park follows the following timetable:
- from 5 in the morning until 1 in the morning for the daytime stop;
- from 1 to 5 for the overnight stop.
In essence, you can access until 1 am because it remains open, then from 1 to 5 it closes, however, those who have already parked previously can also leave the car at night naturally. Only the rates change based on daytime or nighttime parking.
Parking prices
There are different types of payments: hourly, daily and monthly subscription.
Rates for cars:
- the parking is free for the first 15 minutes;
- the hourly parking is 2,50 euros (for each hour or part thereof);
- the daily parking costs 22 euros
Rates for motorcycles
- 1 euro per hour;
- 8 euros for the daily stop.
The overnight stop
- 2 euros per hour from 1 to 5.
Monthly passes
- 150 per month
- 120 euros per month if the pass is associated with a train pass.
