Who is Steven Hackett

Stephen Richard Hackett was born in London on February 12, 1950. From an early age he began to develop a disproportionate love for music, in fact at the age of 4 he received his first instrument, a mouth organ, while at the age of 12 he undertook the music studies as an autodidact.

He began playing in some musical groups, in 1970 he released his first album, namely The Road. Later, looking for a new band in 1971 Hackett joined Genesis. Those were special years in which Hackett achieved truly incredible success thanks also to the introduction of two innovative guitar techniques: tapping and sweep-picking.

Later Hackett abandoned Genesis to pursue a solo career by releasing several albums. Despite this, over the years, she has also participated in revival concerts of the band.
