It has been officially enacted the new ordinance that throws the stiff stop at the fireworks for the entire duration of December 31, leaving space only at the time of the celebration at the start of the new year.
Gaetano Manfredi has signed this provision for valid reasons. The fires of December 31 have always created significant damage not only to the cultural heritage of the city of Naples, but also to people. At this historic moment, the city absolutely cannot afford to raise the number of hospitalizations for consequent to accidents caused by the barrels.
What does the ordinance against fires provide?
Il prohibition concerns any type of firework (firecrackers, barrels, rockets and the like) starting from 16:00 on 31 December 2021 until 24:00 on 1 January 2022. Consequently, it will be possible to fire the barrels only and exclusively at midnight.
Fines for offenders
Those who fail to comply with this ordinance will be punished with economic sanctions (administrative sanction provided for by art. 7 bis of Legislative Decree 267/2000). The amount may vary, based on the seriousness of the offense, from 25 euros up to 500 euros. In addition, the pyrotechnic material will be confiscated.
Because such an ordinance was envisaged
This is not a usual order, this time the reasons are even more important. So yes, surely the provision will protect our cultural heritage, but it has been enacted in particular to limit hospitalizations.
