Great news for the citizens of Torregaveta, part of the municipality of Bacoli, as it will start from 1 July 2022 the new line by sea which will connect the hamlet to the islands of Procida and Ischia. In fact, the boarding of tourists, citizens and commuters will take place right on the pier, one of the best known and most evocative places in Bacoli.
It is, as also expressed by the mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, of a real revolution which will make Torregaveta “the home of transport” by rail, road and for a few days also by sea.
Furthermore, the prices are really very popular because tickets cost between 2 and 3 euros, as you can read in our paragraph dedicated to tickets.
The proof of the Archeolinea
At the beginning of July, sea trials of theArcheolinea, ferry that will connect Torregaveta to Ischia and Procida, and everything seems to be going in the right direction. The tests were carried out in the presence of the Campania Region, the deputy mayor Marianna Illiano, the councilor Vittorio Ambrosino and the councilor Alessandro Scarmardella.
In short, this is good news, as thanks to this new line everyone will have the opportunity to reach the Capital of Culture 2022 e Ischia. In fact, from Montesanto you can get to Torregaveta in 40 minutes and then from here you can take the ferry and in 10 minutes you will arrive in Procida.
Ferry timetables
Departures are from Monday to Friday. Here are the times:
- departure at 11.40 for Procida and Ischia;
- return from Ischia (Casamicciola) at 17.00 pm;
- return from Procida at 17.30 pm.
Ticket prices
Tickets are very affordable and the prices are:
- 2,60 euros for Procida;
- 3,90 euros for Ischia.
