The event "Uànema – Festival of the other living” is a cultural event promoted and financed by City of Naples, which sees the coastal city immersed in the profound cult of the souls in Purgatory. The event's main purpose is the rediscovery of this ancient cult, through a busy calendar of night visits, theatrical performances, concerts e film marathons, all dedicated to the memory of those special places in Naples which guard the link with the afterlife.
The “Uànema” exhibition aims to be a spiritual and cultural alternative to Halloween, focusing attention on a symbolic correspondence between the “city below” and the “city above”. This event does not aim to scare, but rather to create a dialogue between the living and the dead, through tales and stories that underline the importance of memory and the cult of deceased souls.

Film screening program at the Modernissimo
