The initiatives related to Procida Italian Capital of Culture 2022 and this time the Municipality of Bacoli had a nice mural dedicated to the Island of Arthur.
This was announced by the mayor of Bacoli Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, informing us that this work it will color the narrow streets of the ancient village even more, further cementing the link between Bacoli and Procida.
A friendship between the two peoples which, in this way, also becomes a bridge between the Phlegraean communities.
From the Mirabilis Pool to Corricella
The colorful mural represents symbolic places of both Bacoli and Procida because they were designed:
- la Piscina Mirabilis, the Roman archaeological site of Bacoli;
- the area of the Corricella, the ancient seaside village of Procida with its famous colored houses;
- la Casina Vanvitelliana of Bacoli;
- il sea which unites the two places.
It was made by the artist Alexander Ciambrone and was unveiled to the public on the UNESCO day dedicated to the mother tongue.
The theme of Procida Capital of Culture is culture does not isolate and such initiatives, together with all those planned this year to enhance the Phlegraean island, are a demonstration of this.
