In Procida the first EAV electric bus: transport is free throughout the island

A Procida the EAV company's first electric bus, with an inauguration in the beautiful Marina Grande.

In total they will be 4 electric buses which will circulate on the island and enter service by June 2022. This is a good news not only because it is the first fully electric company, but also the first to enter service in Campania for local public transport.

Free and strengthened buses in Procida for the whole year

Recall that from April the Public transport service in Procida is completely free on the occasion of Procida Capital of Culture, therefore the EAV buses can be used without paying the special ticket.

Not only that, because the transport has also been strengthened in view of the many tourists who will arrive for the many scheduled events on the island. In fact, there are 14 buses and shuttles every 10 minutes for 18 hours every day.

The characteristics of electric buses

The new totally electric and green buses in Procida have the artist's graphics Fabrizia Cesarano who wanted to pay homage to the island and are part of the bus fleet renewal and environmental sustainability project that both EAV and the Campania Region are working on ..

These buses have the following characteristics:

  • they are made by Rampini Spa;
  • they are 6 meters long;
  • they have a low floor and places for the disabled;
  • they run with zero emissions;
  • they can carry a total of 29 passengers with 12 seats.

70 electric buses are coming to Campania

EAV has announced that a request has been made for 70 electric buses for the Campania Region and plans for the infrastructural changes of the depots for the charging stations will also be presented in the coming weeks. Of these 70 buses, it is thought to use at least 20 for the island of Ischia.

  • Line L1: Porto - S.Antonio - Chiaiolella and back
  • Line L2: Porto - P.Centane - Chiaiolella - Solchiaro - S.Antonio - Porto
  • Line C1: Porto - P. Vecchio - Via Saletta - S.Antonio - P.Posta - Porto
  • Line C2: Porto - Terra Murata - San Giacomo - Porto
  • Line L7: Porto - Terra Murata - S.Antonio - Hospital and back
