A journey through time in the Neapolitan eighteenth century, at the time of the Bourbons, between receptions and banquets, in the suggestive location of Villa Campolieto
If you want to travel back in time, living one of the most fascinating and evocative eras of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, you cannot miss the event scheduled for Sunday 19 October 2014.
The cultural association Karma Art Culture Theater organized the cultural initiative, in collaboration with the Ente Ville Vesuviane Foundation At court by the Bourbons, a traveling show that will involve the participants transporting them back to the distant Neapolitan eighteenth century, at the time of the "glorious" era of King Ferdinand, Queen Maria Carolina and Vanvitelli.
The original show visit will take place, not surprisingly, in the splendid Villa Campolieto, located in the Golden Mile of Herculaneum, one of the pearls of the eighteenth-century artistic heritage. A real one will be held in this location Bourbon reception where the King will be to invite guests to take part.
Three bridesmaids and a Lady of the Court will lead guests to discover the historical and artistic beauties of the Vesuvian villa and, along the way, they will come across many characters of the time: a "braggart" King Ferdinand, a Queen Maria Carolina with an iron fist , a whimsical Vanvitelli like all artists, his small and impertinent collaborator, Luzio Di Sangro, an eccentric landlord, an extremely insolent servant, and two "messengers" of the people. Between fun, culture, history, tradition and Neapolitanism in an event that is incredible.
At the end of the visit the participants can take part in a Bourbon banquet in the party room with the king, queen and their court, where waiters will pass with trays to offer Lacrima Christi del Vesuvio, and a wide variety of dishes so dear to King Ferdinand of Bourbon, as gateau, sfogliatelle and small pizzas of macaroni .
The King will conclude the eccentric evening with a real one "Raffle", with the extraction of six bottles of Lacrima Christi, which three lucky winners of the people will be able to win!
At Court by the Bourbons is a very original opportunity to learn about the cultural heritage of the golden age of our past, by exploring Villa Campolieto, one of the most evocative places of the Neapolitan eighteenth century, in a magical atmosphere face to face with the historical characters who continue to fascinate the collective imagination of the Neapolitans.
