In Naples, new public works, including the funicular to Sant'Elmo

News in Naples, the City Council has in fact given the green light for further ones works of public utility of compensation and environmental rebalancing entrusted to the company Terna, i.e. the Italian company that operates the electricity transmission networks.

Currently, some interventions are already in place, among these landfills of existing overhead lines, the removal of tram tracks no longer in use, improvements of road mats, restoration interventions including the sidewalk of Lungomare Caracciolo and many others.

What are the new works

The city councilor for infrastructure of Naples, Edoardo Cosenza, explains that the figure of 1.200.000 €, will be used both for the realization of strategic works and for some restoration and conservation interventions of the cultural heritage.

Three will be the most important interventions, namely:

  • The design of the Sant'Elmo station of the Montesanto funicular
  • The design of the Contrada Pisani sewer and adaptation of the executive project for the arrangement of the Vallone San Rocco III lot
  • The design of the restoration of the spire of San Gennaro and the aedicule of San Gennaro
