Vincenzo Figliolia, the mayor of Pozzuoli, issued a new decree with which it establishes the ban on the sale of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in glass containers.
The ordinance, which will come into force at 24:00 on March 17 2022, will be valid from 21:00 to 06:00 of the following day in the municipal area, every day until 24:00 on 31 October 2022.
The ban will also affect the consumption of beverages in glass on all public areas and whoever fails to comply with this ordinance will be sanctioned with a fine ranging from 25 to 500 euros. Merchants who violate the ban twice in a row risk the suspension of the activity for a period ranging from 3 to 15 days.
The reason for the order
The order established by the mayor of Pozzuoli has an important purpose, namely that of avoid abandonment on the street, in the flower beds and in the various spaces, of bottles and glass containers used, in addition to avoid any aggressive behavior, following the abuse of alcoholic beverages, of consumers, since bottles and glass shards they can represent lethal weapons.
Consequently, the managers of public establishments, bathing establishments and the owners of craft activities, clubs and private associations have the prohibition on selling or transferring to third parties, also through vending machines, alcoholic and non-alcoholic in glass containers.
