Unfortunately the "cultural" closures in the neighborhood Vomero a Napoli because another historic bookseller's stall said goodbye to the area.

After the painful closures, which occurred in recent years, of the famous Guida and Loffredo libraries, one of the stalls that had been standing there for decades has also closed its doors in front of the Vanvitelli school complex in via Luca Giordano.

We all know them and they are there since the 80s, giving occasional passers-by and loyal enthusiasts the opportunity to find books of all kinds and receive advice from street booksellers. Recalling the well-known stalls found along the Seine a Paris, they soon became known as "Les boites des bouquinistes“, Precisely the booksellers' stalls.

From birth to the present day

As mentioned, these stalls are were inaugurated in the years'80, not without complaints. In fact, she was feared. Thanks, however, to the commitment of the then young booksellers, they were able to position these stalls harmonizing them very well with the environment, without clashing with the surrounding context, following a very specific project that proved to be lasting.

Until today, at least, why because of the crisis and other contributing causes, these stalls are slowly closing their doors. Yet, for many years they have been instrumental in the selling books, But also DVD in the golden age of this support.

The inevitable crisis and closure

Already in 2019 one of these itinerant bookstores had closed, replaced by another type of business that dealt with sale of objects and gift items.

After about 3 years, a similar fate happened to a second stall and it could also be replaced by another "shop" of objects, risking that the area becomes a sort of market area more chaotic. Right in front of a prestigious school building.
