A few days ago aintense controversy over the request of some traders from Vomero in Naples to eliminate the benches in the pedestrian areas to make room for the tables of their activities.
Precisely in Via Scarlatti, Via Morghen e Via Luca Giordano they showed the need to have more space to place tables and chairs for pizzerias and bars, in order to accommodate more customers, but at the heavy price of having the benches on those streets removed.
A request that made one turn up strong protest by the residents of Vomero, but also of other citizens who simply go to the neighborhood, for various reasons, and who do not look favorably on the idea of moving the already few benches.

The merchant's request has been sent to Commerce Commission that has to decide whether or not to move the benches, but the complaints of hundreds of citizens will make the decision difficult.
