The day of Easter Monday 2017 the Belvedere of San Leucio will open in extraordinary way for the many requests of tourists!
Excellent news arrives regarding one of the most beautiful sites in Campania, the Belvedere di San Leucio. Indeed, on the occasion of the Easter Monday 2017 (day in which the place is usually closed), which will fall on Monday 17 April, the monumental complex will open in extraordinary way.
This is a provision developed by the Municipality of Caserta to respond to the many requests from tour operators and tourists who wish to visit the site. It will be a fantastic opportunity to visit this place which, together with the Palace of Caserta and the Vanvitelli Aqueduct, is one of the sites Unesco World Heritage.
The Belvedere of San Leucio was wanted by King Charles of Bourbon, who wanted to give life to King Ferdinand's dream of creating an autonomous community, also training the young people of the post in theart of silk weaving, among other things. We remind you, in fact, that the Silk Museum is located nearby, where you can visit the historic machinery of the 700s.
It was a revolutionary and avant-garde social experiment for its time, but was interrupted by the outbreak of the Revolution of 1799. During the 800th century, however, San Leucio continued to develop and still today the tradition of silk weaving persists.
