As per tradition, the eagerly awaited appointment with the Maiorese May, or the great Carnival party in Maiori, in Amalfi Coast. The festive weekend will be that of 13 and 14 May 2023, with events also on 10 May.
It will be a great party in which there will also be parades of allegorical floats, some of which also come from the Carnivals of Viareggio and Palma Campania.
This new edition of the event will be very special as it will be dedicated to safeguarding the oceans and the planet in line with the Unesco Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.
The allegorical floats that will parade
Five will be the floats protagonists of this new edition of Carnival of Maiori:
Neptune can be saved
- Neptune can be saved is the allegorical float of the “Rio” Association, whose main mask is obviously the King of the Seas. Inside, however, it contains a large marine creature, namely the whale. This construction is a tribute to raising awareness of ocean conservation.
Neverland
- Neverland is instead the allegorical construction of the ADS Association, represented by a giant panda with its cub. A clear symbol against the extinction of the species.
The Master trash, starred chef in gourmet trash
- Great message from the Invisibles Association with their allegorical float The Master trash, starred chef in gourmet trash. The protagonist of the structure is the trash master, a chef who uses secret ingredients in his recipes, namely the waste that pollutes the waters and seas.
A future to save
- Another important theme, namely that of climate change is instead represented by A future to save of the I Monelli Association
Don't be surprised Alice
- “What are you surprised Alice if we've come this far? What are you surprised if our planet is turning against us?” This is the message of the float Don't be surprised Alice of the Diapason Association "I Nuovi Pazzi", which represents the relationship between man and the environment.
The path of the parade
The parades of allegorical floats, among these also those guests from Viareggio and Palma Campania, are scheduled for Sunday 7 and 14 May 2023 starting at 16:30. The path followed will be the one between the Lungomare Capone and the Tourist Port. There will also be other appointments scheduled with book presentations, presentation of the next edition and much more.
