Il Carnival of Maiori unfortunately already scheduled from February 20 to March 1 2022 will come postponed due to the Omicron variant. However, the celebrations have only moved to this spring, in fact, the Carnival on the Amalfi Coast will be celebrated from 8 to 15 May 2022.
This decision, that is to move all the events scheduled in the week of Shrove Tuesday, was taken in Rome, on the day on which theAssembly of Italian historical Carnivals. Therefore, the Carnival will not be canceled but only postponed.
48th edition of the Maiori Carnival
The Gran Carnival Maiorese is an event that every year attracts many visitors and onlookers and that citizens look forward to. This 2022 will be its 48th edition and will see the giants of papier mache as they defined them.
The allegorical floats they are real works of art, capable of leaving those who observe them truly speechless. Each year a theme is chosen on the basis of which each association creates its chariot, this year the travel will be the theme.
