Rai Storia broadcasts a wonderful episode also dedicated to the incredible beauty of the Submerged Archaeological Park of Baia!

This evening, Monday January 4 2021, will air one wonderful episode of the series "Italy, a journey into beauty" which will make us admire the suggestive Archaeological Park of Baia Sommersa, rich in history and the remains of incredible Roman domus.

The appointment is up Rai Storia at 21.10, on the channel 54, and the wonders of Baia Sommersa are a part of the program dedicated to submerged beauties of our country. The Italian heritage, in this field, is truly immense and the transmission will leave us speechless, especially for the part that concerns our coasts.

The Archaeological Park of Baia Sommersa: an unmissable wonder

The series is produced by Rai Cultura in collaboration with Mibact and shows us, in an unpublished episode, the wealth of this wonderful park in our region. At a depth ranging from 2 to 16 meters, Baia Sommersa includes the remains of theancient Roman city which, over the centuries, has remained submerged near the coast in the province of Naples.

The city is now covered by the sea due to the phenomenon of bradyseism which we all know well and which, over the centuries, with its vertical movements, has caused the coast to sink many meters.

Submerged in those waters are the commercial ports of Baia (Lacus Baianus) and the Portus Julius, nymphaeum of Punta Epitaffio (whose statues are now in the Archaeological Museum of the Phlegraean Fields), in addition to mosaics, frescoes, column e road layouts, all between anemones and starfish.

An episode not to be missed.
