Parthenope university campus: here is the project for West Naples

Air of changes, of innovation and above all of improvements that involve West Naples and in particular Campegna street where it will rise the new headquarters of the Department of Motor Sciences of the Parthenope University of Naples.

A lease agreement free of charge between the University of Naples Parthenope and the State Property Agency, with which it comes granted the former arsenal area located in Via Campegna for build a university campus going to create the seat of the Department of Motor Sciences of the university.

An important project that falls within the Bagnoli air relaunch and redevelopment strategy. The complete project with all the details was presented on 1 June 2022 in the main hall of the Parthenope University where the rector Alberto Carotenuto, the Mayor of Naples and Government Commissioner Sin Bagnoli-Coroglio Gaetano Manfredi, Dr. Mario Parlagreco were present. of the Agenzia del Demanio and Prof. Ferruccio remains president of the CRUI.

The decision: the area will not be demolished

The rector of the university who illustrated the project pointed out that the area of the former Bourbon arsenal will be redeveloped e not demolished given its important historical value, it will therefore be rebuilt by creating the new headquarters of the Department of Motor Sciences.

Part of this area will in any case be made available to all citizens, in order to provide more and more services to students attending the university.

Construction sites should start at December of the 2023 and it will take about 3 years to complete all the works.

What the project foresees

The project foresees that within the Department of Motor Sciences there will be:

  • classrooms
  • secretariats
  • WORKSHOPS
  • offices
  • library
  • canteen
  • the residences
  • cultural and educational spaces
  • multimedia areas and much more.

Energy consumption should be almost zero since the entire structure will be powered by photovoltaic panels, a rainwater recovery system and other systems.

A new metro station is planned

This will allow you to offer a wider training offer. Furthermore, the improvements will not only concern the birth of this new university but also the means of transport. An agreement was in fact concluded for enter a subway station at the campus and the head line will be the Line 6.

An investment of approximately 500 million euros with the total completion of the works scheduled for 2026.
