Close up in Ecolano, visits to the sites of the Archaeological Park start again
In Herculaneum the appointments with Close Up start again: visits to the construction sites inside the Archaeological Park are scheduled!
From 14 May 2021, every Friday morning, the special appointments start again with the fourth edition of the initiative Close-up Construction sites in Herculaneum, an event strongly desired by the director of the Archaeological Park Francis Sirano.
All guests will have the wonderful opportunity to personally view the restoration and maintenance works that the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum has undertaken in recent days. But not only that, in fact they will be able to preview some domus temporarily closed.
Close-up Construction sites in Herculaneum
Every Friday morning these special events will take place for the fourth edition of Close-up Construction sites Herculaneum, a particular journey among the domus in which you will be accompanied by restorers, archaeologists and architects del Parco who will tell you about and illustrate the work behind the ongoing maintenance and restoration projects.
You will then know the interventions on the mosaics of House of the Gem, House of the Cerci, House of Pilus Granianus, House of the Tuscan colonnade, Mosaic atrium house and others.
How to participate
The appointments with Close-up Cantieri in Ercolano will take place every Friday morning at 11:00 and 11:30. To participate you can book at the desk of the Visitor Center of the Archaeological Park at least a quarter of an hour before the scheduled time for the two shifts.
The initiative does not include additional costs, it will be enough then buy the normal ticket to enter the site. The visits will take place in full security, respecting all the rules necessary to contain the virus.
You will then be subjected to temperature measurement, respect for spacing and use of the mask.
