For the 2018 Birthday of the Federico II University the Courtyard of the Statues reopens: free events are scheduled with Neri Marcorè as a guest!
As every year, the beginning of June falls on Birthday of the Federico II University of Naples. Also for 2018 it was decided to celebrate with a rich program, which in this edition sees how special guest Neri Marcorè. The appointment, open to all, is in headquarters in Corso Umberto I on 8 June. For the occasion, there will also be the reopening of the Courtyard of the Statues, closed for eleven years.
To celebrate the 794 candles, the university invites students and citizens to a day made of awards, exhibitions, shows and conferences. A way to thank - and value - the largest university center in the South, which from the 1224 is a point of reference for culture and teaching.
There will be aexhibition of the Federic choir and a conversation with Blacks Marcorè which will conclude the event with the musical show "Like a smile", together with the Gnu Quartet. The fifteenth-century Courtyard of the Statues welcomes 13 busts of famous people, the clock and the sundial, on which it will be possible to know more thanks to the volume distributed to the participants.

The Rector and the teachers will deliver the “Happy Birthday Federico II” prizes to 33 deserving students and will award the winners of international computer competitions.

The Frederick choir, made up of students, teachers and staff of the university, will perform in a musical interlude.

After 11 years the wonderful Courtyard of the Statues will be reopened, which can be accessed from Corso Umberto I 40, via Mezzocannone 8 and via Paladino 39.
