Il President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca has returned to invite to the caution citizens and institutions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.

In fact, although the daily news, unfortunately, is now mainly focused on the war in Ukraine, we must not forget that the virus is still around and that in the last days i infections are rising along with admissions in intensive therapy. Coronavirus, after a lowering of the curve, is returning to be present and there is an intensification of positive cases.

This is why he calls for caution.

The increase in infections and the arrival of refugees

Therefore, we must take into account the fact that, according to what was also said by De Luca, i admissions to intensive care they are increasing, albeit slowly, and that the arrival of thousands of refugees from Ukraine is helping to do climb the contagion curve because in that country the vaccine rate is very low. It stands at around 35%.

At the Ospedale del Mare, one of the first reception centers, 1.653 refugees arrived and 1.600 swabs were made, of which 203 positive results.

The importance of the mask

De Luca advised everyone to be attentive, without excessive concern, but without even leading to superficiality. He emphasized thethe importance of continuing to wear the mask because it is the tool the basis of our protection.

We know that the Government is thinking of a plan for the phasing out of restrictions and sooner or later even the obligation to wear the mask indoors will disappear, but this is not the time and De Luca is keen to emphasize this.

Of course, the President of the Region agrees with the idea of reopening economic and cultural activities, but precisely this decision "determines a shuffling of the company and in addition we must have greater prudence".
