In Naples, in Secondigliano, the first living nativity scene with a reproduction of a painting by Caravaggio for 2016 Christmas.
Il And 28 29 December 2016 and 5 January 2017 Will be held the first nativity scene living a Naples, a Secondigliano, on the initiative of the parish of the Immaculate Conception in Capodichino, which will address the theme of the migrazione in a parallel between the current situation of migrants and the journey of the holy family.
The exhibitors will be more than 35 in the streets who will interpret modern transpositions of typical characters of the Neapolitan nativity scene: the Holy Family will be a Syrian refugee couple, the Magi Kings no longer kings astronomers but a doctor, a coast guard and a fisherman and finally the cradle will be modeled as a boat to remember the over five thousand people who only in the 2016 have searched across the Mediterranean and who died in the attempt.
A painting by the artist was chosen as the background of the nativity Caravaggio, , currently exhibited at the Pio Monte della Misericordia of Naples, which takes the name of "The seven works of mercy”: And that it was made in natural size (almost four meters in length and the same number in width). Beyond this background, a further fifteen panels were created which will be installed along the path leading to the nativity (positioned in a courtyard) and which will continue the theme of both corporal (i.e. those represented in the painting by Caravaggio) and spiritual works of mercy.
