A beautiful news is coming to Naples and which concerns the reopening of one of the most beautiful places in the city, closed since the postwar period. We are talking about the Crypta Neapolitan, or the road that connects Mergellina in Fuorigrotta, and that according to the legend it was built by Virgilio Mago together with demons.

For a very long time, the Crypta Neapolitana it was an important communication route between Neapolis and Puteoli, but currently she was in a state of total abandonment and to bring to light her condition was the regional councilor Maria Muscarà.

The appropriation for the Crypta Neapolitan

Thus, after the various solicitations, not only of the councilor but also of the various committees and activists of the city of Naples, the Campania Region, with the president Vincenzo De Luca, will make available an allocation of 12 million euro which will allow the restructuring and the complete securing of the site.

In this way, i 711 meters of tunnel of the site will be passable by pedestrians and open for both tourists and citizens, thus representing a connection between Mergellina and Fuorigrotta and an alternative road to the Lazio and Quattro Giornate tunnel, sheltered from the smog of cars. Probably, the project will also include one bicycle lane.
