Against the increases in the bill, the Meloni government is working in order to develop a decree to help families cope with the increases in electricity prices
Il governo Giorgia Meloni is working to define an aid decree to counter the rise in bills that in recent months have been weighing on the pockets of Italians. It would be the fourth after the three already prepared by Draghi government for a total of 61,2 billion euros. It is a question of moving between 4 and 5 billion for the aid-quater law decree which collects the inheritance of 10 billion from the previous executive as an effect of the increased VAT revenues.
When the government decree against the increase in the price of utility bills is foreseen
Despite the fact that there are already hopes for a reduction in gas bills of 7,3 million under the protection regime, the new decree against the increase in the cost of electricity is considered urgent by the government. However, it will not be included in the cabinet on Friday 4 November and will probably be the subject of discussion next week.
The tariff reduction will start in January 2023
The regulatory authority for energy, networks and the environment (Arera) will communicate the new tariffs tomorrow 3 November. Despite this, there will be a lowering of tariffs for the other 11 million of the protected market only a January 2023 because the light update takes place every three months.
The hypotheses on the aid-quater decree are being examined by the government
There are various hypotheses that the government is studying regarding the discount on the cost of electricity, which for now is calculated taking into account the Isee income. In fact, for now the ceiling is 12 thousand euros and 20 thousand for families with four or more children. The presentation of the ISEE model could also be eliminated to speed up the perception of the bonus in the form of discount which will appear directly in the bill.
Le companies finally, the tax income on gas and electricity consumption could also be extended to December, the expiry of which is now set at 30 November.
