Taste in Naples with tastings of typical food and exhibition of the silks of San Leucio

In Naples, in Piazza Dante, the Degusta event will make you discover the traditions and cuisine of the Bourbons in 700th century settings.

From the 16 21 May 2017 the association Excellence in Piazza organizes during the review May Neapolitan in Piazza Dante in Naples the Degusta event whose theme will be "typical of the Bourbons to the present day". The festival wants to promote and enhance the foods and eating habits that the Bourbons have left in the Neapolitan area, such as the macaroni omelette strictly cooked with Gragnano PGI or la pasta Maritata soup.

The Bourbon cuisine was inspired by French and Spanish, but during the reign of Ferdinando I the culinary tradition, also complicit in the writing of recipes by Vincenzo Corrado, became autonomous and many of the dishes that are still part of the Neapolitan menu date back to that 'era. Inside the Degusta kermesse there will be space for both the food and the cultural part: the cultural association Favole Seriche di San Leucio will exhibit the precious silks of San Leucio, so famous that they are still used today in high quality residences such as the White House or Buckingham Palace.

In the food part, however, visitors can taste and learn about the typical foods of the Neapolitan tradition and they will be able to discover still little-known food specialties, accompanied by actors dressed in 1700s clothes.
