Immerse yourself in the world of cinema with “Estate a Corte 2023”, a unique cinematic event which takes place in the heart of the Spanish Quarters of Naples.

This review, curated with passion by Peter Pizzimento, offers a selection of Italian and international films, presenting over forty films divided into different sections.

We remind you that access is available for the disabled e a free parking for bikes and scooters.

The place: FOQUS – Spanish Quarter Foundation

The event takes place at the FOQUS – Spanish Quarter Foundation, located in via Portacarrese in Montecalvario, 69. This foundation is a beacon of culture and art in the city of Naples, known for its urban regeneration projects.

The complete program of screenings and special meetings

Estate a Corte 2023 takes place from 6 July to 3 September. The program is rich and varied, with sections dedicated to different cinematography and genres.

  • "So Far, So Close” offers an overview of the cinematography of distant cultures different from the European one, with films shot in Canada, South Korea, Iran, Argentina, China, Japan, the Philippines and Norway.
  • "European cinema today” presents works produced in Ireland, Great Britain and Belgium, while “France today” offers films by French masters Luc Dardenne, Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Dominik Moll and Patrice Leconte.
  • "Campania and Surroundings” is dedicated to the best productions of the Neapolitan and regional film industry, with works by directors who are marking the style and success of the new Campania cinema.
  • "It is Italian Author Cinema” offers ample space for contemporary Italian auteur cinema, with the screening of the latest films by well-known and appreciated directors.
  • "family life” is the section intended to involve a general public with works signed by highly successful international directors.

During the review meetings with authors and protagonists of the cinema are also planned. For example, on opening night, it is expected a meeting with the writer Simona Frasca, author of the book from which the film “Mixed by Erry” drew inspiration, and the Frattasio brothers, protagonists of the story told in the film. Other encounters include for example:

Projections they start at 21:00. The entrance it costs €3,50 for the evenings dedicated to Italian and European cinema, while for the other evenings the price is €5,00, unless otherwise indicated.
