The special appointment with the Festival of ancient flavours in Mandia, a fraction of Ascea in the province of Salerno, which will take place from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 August 2023.
This will be the thirtieth edition of the event, an important event that will be celebrated with a program full of activities, including tastings, culture, trekking and art.
In fact, guests will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition of peasant civilization and the photographic exhibition of the period, participate in music shows Italian and ancient Greek-Cilento music, theatrical and poetic representations with local artists.
But that's not all, because by reservation and for free the Pro-Mandia Committee association oorganizes guided excursions that will take place in the afternoon.
The specialties to taste
Obviously, tastings of local products cannot be missed. At the center of the event is the Tabbuaccogno bean, it is a legume native to Mandia which is grown without the use of chemicals. But this will not be the only specialty to taste, there are many other products on the program not to be missed such as:
- Pasta and beans from Mandia
- Fusilli with sauce
- Chestnuts and Beans from Mandia
- Freselle with tomato
- Barbecued pork sausage with french fries
- Wine and homemade bread
The event, in addition to having the aim of making this place known to as many people as possible, also has the aim of doing good, in fact a portion of the proceeds net will be intended to several cultural, charitable and public utility initiatives.

In the historical centre, from 21:00 to 24:00, it is possible to visit the exhibition of peasant civilization, the Parish Church of S. Giovanni Battista, a period photographic exhibition.
