From 8 to 10 December 2023, the suggestive Serre, located in the heart of Cilento, comes alive to celebrate its renowned liquid gold: theolive oil. The fifth edition of Oil Festival it is not only a tribute to the prized local olive production, but also a lively festival that involves all the senses. In the picturesque Old Town, guests will immerse themselves in an environment rich in history, culture and, of course, the best flavors that the olive can offer.

Three days dedicated to olive oil

For three days, the urban fabric of Serre is transformed into a stage dedicated to the exaltation ofolive oil. This annual celebration is a window on the olive growing tradition of the area, an opportunity to savor and appreciate oil in all its nuances: from its ancient history to its many culinary applications.

The program for adults and children

The party gets underway Friday December 8 with an inaugural ceremony that includes the cutting of the ribbon by the authorities. Visitors will then be able to explore the food stands and enjoy a wide range of entertainment. Traveling musicians like Folk lantern, Orazio Di Cosimo Sax e DJ Goco will liven up the streets, while the evening concerts in courtyard of the Doge's Palace they will add a touch of magic. The program of Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th promises an equally rich experience, with a variety of shows, children's activities and unique musical moments.

Tastings and street food

In the heart of Oil Festival of Serre, tastings and street food play a fundamental role. Visitors will be welcomed with a vast selection of typical dishes, all enhanced by the use ofSerre EVO oil. The variety of foods offered is a true gastronomic celebration, which ranges from traditional proposals to modern reinterpretations.

  • Olive oil spritz: a unique creation of the Tenuta Mennella farm since 1967.
  • Caciocavallo hanged: a traditional classic, presented by the Marco Di Rosario Agricultural Company.
  • Trio bruschetta: variety of flavors offered by the Carmine Mottola Farm, including oil, garlic and oregano; oil with crushed olives, garlic and chilli pepper; and oil with cunzate potatoes and bran.
  • Fried dumpling: available in three variants – classic, revisited and vegan – each with its own special touch.
  • Desserts from Pizzeria Pizzità, including olive oil baba and sweet tarallucci with EVO oil.
  • Zeppoloni with anchovies e Montanara, two specialties of Lady Tennent's Pizzeria.
  • Tozzetti and Controne beans from the Antonio Luongo Agricultural Company, a dish that combines simplicity and taste.
  • Broccoli and sausage sandwich from the Antico Frantoio Mennella, an ideal choice for those looking for intense flavours.
  • Lagane and chickpeas, Fusilli with sauce with EVO oil, Mnestra sperta with olives: traditional dishes from the Olivieri Teresa farm.
  • Veal Stew With Potatoes from Braceria La Fucagna, a rich and tasty dish.
  • Pizza slice in various creative interpretations from Pizzeria Differently Napoletana, including the Autunno, Marinara a Modo Nostro and Riccia variants.

In addition to these delights, guests will be able to taste homemade beers from the La Nuda Brewery and select wines from Tenuta Macellaro, accompanying meals with fresh water or an aromatic coffee. This exceptional culinary offering promises to satisfy every palate, making a visit to the Serre Oil Festival an unforgettable experience.
