Archeology Festival in Bacoli: the program of events

The Fusaro Bourbon Complex, which also includes the wonderful Casina Vanvitelliana, for three days, that is from 6 to 8 October 2023, will be the location of the highly anticipated Bacoli Archeology Festival.

This is a really interesting review dedicated tothe cinema and cross-media, whose program includes a series of unmissable events between debates, exhibitions, guided tours and 12 challenging films coming from various parts of the world such as Spain, Iran, Turkey and much more.

The event was born with a very specific objective, namely to exalt and enhance the historical and naturalistic heritage of the Campi Flegrei.

The 12 films that will compete

At the Oyster Room will be held on film competition which will see 12 films compete, here are them:

  • Mission Méditerranée Le Musèe des abysses (Thomas Marlier and Mathieu Pradinaud)
  • The secret waters of Palermo (Stefania Casini)
  • Afghanistan: traces of a scarred culture (Alberto Castellani)
  • Khaled al-Asaad. That Day in Palmyra (Alberto Castellani)
  • Bloody Skin (Ebad Adibpour)
  • Achilles on the Island of Skyros (José Luis Gomez Merino)
  • Water is life (Anil Gök)
  • Ocean One K (Matthieu Pradinaud)
  • The rediscovered memory of the Late Hellenistic Necropolis of Cuma (Fabrice Paul)
  • The enchanting Lucrezia Borgia (Marco Melluso and Diego Schiavo)
  • The Indian Fleet (Antonio Pérez Molero)
  • Baia the submerged city (Marcello Adamo)

The films will be judged by a jury of experts and by the public itself. The winner will get one Kore modern wrapped in film with the artist's signature Salvatore Scuotto.

6 October

  • At 10am out-of-competition screenings of Acquateam-Adventures at Sea
  • 12pm the Audivisual event: Public bodies and promotion of the territory with sector experts
  • To conclude “Palmyra, the wonder of the desert – Journey to the UNESCO sites” documentary by Federico Fazzuoli and Elisa Greco and the presentation of the album “Simple Countries” by Andrea Cassese.

7 October

  • From 10am to 30pm there will be space for the works in competition
  • 11 hours: 30 guided tour of the Fusaro Bourbon Park edited by Aps Siti Reali Ets
  • 12pm round table The sea: an environmental and cultural resource
  • Conclusion with AperiNetworking in the Casina Vanvitelliana

8 October

  • Awards day with the piano show by maestro Marco Fiorenzano, the speech by Mariano Nuzzo, Superintendent of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape and greetings from Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, mayor of Bacoli.

Also on the program is the exhibition dedicated to Pliny the Elder in the Casina Vanvitelliana not to be missed.
