The event is aimed at a national and international audience, citizens and tourists fascinated by the musical culture and Neapolitan history.
Napoli it has always been a city of art and music, in the first half of eighteenth century it was among the most vibrant cities in Europe and for this goal of many artists. At that time the music was lived as a necessity and took advantage of every opportunity, public or private, to express it. All the events were characterized by a musical accompaniment, a tradition that allowed Neapolitan music to to be known in the world and to reach a high level also testified by the technical accuracy of the tools then used.
Many musicians arrived in Naples to express their art and be contaminated by that of the city, so much so that some Neapolitan streets are named after famous musicians of the Neapolitan Music School of the eighteenth century. Alessandro Scarlatti, Niccolò Iommelli, Francesco Durante, Giovanni Paisiello, Niccolò Piccinni, Nicola Antonio Porpora and Domenico Cimarosa are just some of the names that have made music culture so great. The Festival has come to his XVII edition but it is still ready to excite and amaze viewers.
