Finally it was made a decision, by the Government, in relation to the fixed price for the sale of FFP2 masks in the pharmacy.
This was announced by the commissioner for the Coronavirus emergency, Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, communicating that their price cannot exceed 75 cents per template.
A decision that has been made in agreement with FederFarma, AssoFarm and FarmacieUnite, that is, the trade associations of pharmacies, even if it has not yet been formalized. This means that there is no effectiveness, but in each case the decision has been defined.
The controlled price concerns pharmacies: what about other retailers?
We specify, however, that the controlled price of 75 cents which must not be exceeded is related only to the sale in pharmacies.
As for other retailers such as supermarkets, online and e-commerce stores, and other physical stores that sell them, an obligation has not yet been defined.
Currently there is still no agreement with these categories of resellers.
The obligation to wear the FFP2 mask
The decree of December 29, 2021 made masks mandatory to participate in almost all recreational, cultural and other activities.
You must wear:
- during shows open to the public indoors or outdoors in theaters;
- in concert halls;
- in the cinema;
- in entertainment venues and live music and in similar premises;
- events and sports competitions outdoors or indoors;
- on means of transport, including local public transport such as metro and bus;
- in house during the self-monitoring period if you have received your third dose or second dose less than four months ago you have come in contact with a positive (read the quarantine rules).
How to safely choose FFP2 masks
This type of masks it gives greater protection than surgical ones because it protects both the wearer and others, but you have to be careful not to run into unsafe masks. In fact, they need to be certified and so comply, but how to do it?

- check that there is the CE mark;
- check that there is a 4-digit number of the certifying body;
- must be present on Code EN 149: 2001 A1: 2009;
- there may be the abbreviations KN95 or N95.
