La Irpinia food fair, a major food and wine event, will be held in Calabritto (AV) il December 22th and 23th 2023. The event is a celebration of the traditional cuisine of Irpinia, offering participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in local culinary culture through a wide variety of authentic dishes.

What do you eat at the festival

La festival stands out for its “Traditional Poor Menu”, which offers a selection of typical dishes from the region. Main dishes include “Pull De.Co. with sauce”, a local fresh pasta specialty, and i “Purpetti cu ru Panu” (meatballs with bread), which represent a traditional Irpinia recipe. There is no shortage of “Sfruculati Potatoes”, delicious mashed potatoes served with pickled peppers, offering a unique and distinctive taste. Water will be available to accompany meals.

Shows and other activities

The event is not limited to just food tasting. The 23 December, one will be organized Tirate laboratory, run by the housewives of Calabritto. The laboratory, open to all at 12.00 hours and later dedicated to hikers at 13.00 hours, allows participants to learn the art of making pasta according to local tradition. The workshop It represents a unique opportunity to understand and appreciate the culinary culture of Irpinia.
