The Naples Central Funicular will be closed for extraordinary maintenance works
From Monday 17 November 2014 the Central Funicular of Naples it will remain closed for traction rope replacement. The service will return active Friday November 21 2014.
After a periodic check carried out on the plant, the need was no longer possible to proceed with the replacement of the traction cable, after the end of its useful life. Once the testing procedures have been completed, the service will resume regularly on Friday November 21.
In lieu of the Funicular the bus line C36 departing from Piazza Vanvitelli, it will modify the route to serve those heading for Via Palizzi. The Line is active on Corso Vittorio Emanuele C16. For all other passengers traveling to the city center, we recommend using the metro 1 line to the Toledo stop.
