From the 10 April 2016 the Central Funicular to Naples will remain closed for a serious breakdown.
ANM, the Neapolitan Mobility Company, gives the news on Twitter, apologizing for the inconvenience and warning users that the service will be suspended "until ceased requirements".
So, at the moment, the reopening date is not known of funicolare central, but the damage turned out to be serious. Currently we have to deal with the replacement of the bearings of the winch of the Funicular and only later will we know the times for the conclusion of the works.
ANM also states that "the works in question coincide with the terms imposed by the regulations in force for the "twenty-year general maintenance" whose deadline is expected within the 2016".
Upgrades
To limit the inconvenience, thebus C36 departing from Piazza Vanvitelli modifies the route to meet those heading for Via Palizzi. On the Corso Vittorio Emanuele is active the C16 Line, also useful for the interchange with the Funicolari plants of Chiaia and Montesanto. You can also boost the 1 Metro Line for those who have to go from Via Toledo Vomero and viceversa.
We also remember that the subway line 1 will make one early closing on 11 April and that there had already been some inconveniences always at the Funicular Centrae due to some maintenance works. Likewise, some work had made it necessary to close the quay at Frullome station.
