Throughout the summer of 2017 the Mergellina Funicular in Naples will remain closed, but a replacement bus will be activated.
Updated: in September 2017 the Mergellina Funicular will reopen to the public.

The ANM of Naples has communicated that the Mergellina Funicular will be closed from Monday 17 July 2017 and for the whole summer period.
The motivations were not disclosed of the suspension of the service, but to remedy the great inconvenience for the travelers, the 621 replacement shuttle.
Recall that for the same period entered into the summer timetable also applies for the Chiaia and Montesanto funiculars, time that will also be valid for the Central Funicular when it will reopen.
Substitute bus timetable for the Funicolare di Mergellina
Il 621 replacement bus which stops at the intermediate stations of the Funicular, from 7.00 am to 18.50 pm on the Manzoni-Mergellina route.
