The match between Genoa and Napoli ended with the result 2 to 2. An unsatisfactory draw for the Italian team.

Below is the summary of the match.

Summary Genoa – Napoli 2-2

The match between Genoa and Napoli gave emotions and sparks from the first seconds, with a Elmas booked just 13 seconds after the opening whistle.

The rossoblù formation, with a four-man defensive line and the Retegui-Gudmundsson duo up front, showed great tenacity, while Napoli had some surprises with Elmas who completed the trident in place of the resting Rrahmani.

Genoa showed a good game with constant pressing and well-managed crosses. However, despite various attempts, the first real signal came only six minutes from the end of the first half, when Retegui unleashed a shot which was saved at the last minute by Meret. On the following corner, Marassi exploded for Genoa's lead, with Bani finding the way to the net.

The second half saw Napoli change gear, with the entry of politan in place of Elmas. However, Genoa doubled their lead thanks to an excellent turn from their centre-forward, despite the prompt response from the Azzurri thanks to the exploits of Breakers e politan.

The 2-2 final draw kept everyone in suspense until the very end, with Genoa having the golden opportunity for triumph late on, which the rossoblù attacker narrowly missed.

In the end, a draw that left a bad taste in the mouth of Genoa, who deserved something more given the performance offered. Napoli, for their part, demonstrated great ability to react, managing to overcome a two-goal deficit.
