The Grand Carnival 2017 arrives in Maiori with many events and the historic parade of allegorical floats!
Il Grand Carnival of Maiori is still on stage with the 44esima edition. The dates to be marked in the calendar are 19, 26, 28 February and 5 March 2017: scheduled there are many events and the traditional parade of allegorical floats.
At the end of November, during the prestigious international Carnval workshop, the this year's theme. It is aboutEurope, which will be the protagonist of the event with its history and its multifaceted culture. Once again a spectacular prospect is proposed parade of floats, real works of art that come to life thanks to the skill of the artisans. The processing, based on the technique of iron molded by hand and paper mache, has in fact reached levels of the highest quality.
The Grand Carnival of Maiori has a long history: the first edition was organized in 1971 and already attracted thousands of spectators in the early years. Unforgettable are some of the first floats, at the time more similar to theatrical skits. The memory of the representations of the Maiorese does not vanish in the minds of the Journey of Ulysses, the Moulin Rouge or Dante's Inferno.
