The events for the presentation evening of the projects to adopt the areas of the Health District in which Totò was born with a concert and a show!
2017 is theanniversary of the death of the great Prince Antonio de Curtis, in art Toto, and for the occasion we are thinking of a series of events to remember the artist Neapolitan, particularly in his natio Rione Sanità. The district will also dedicate aimportant exhibition starting from the 15 April.
Among the first, there will be what will take place Sunday January 22 thanks to the San Gennaro Community Foundation where, in addition to some events, there will also be the sharing of choices and solutions on urban furniture in the Rione Sanità. It will therefore be an evening of celebration that will start with the concert of the Scarlatti Junior Orchestra, but also a moment to find solutions for the redevelopment of the neighborhood and to pay the right homage to Totò.
Projects for the Health District
The San Gennaro Community Foundation proposes theadoption of two important squares del Rione, Piazzetta San Severo and Largo Vita, and the corner of the building where Totò was born in via SM Antesaecula. The most important idea, however, concerns that of making one door of light dedicated to Totò at the entrance of Borgo Vergini.
The idea of 1999 by Giuseppe Desiato will be resumed and one will be created empty silhouette of Totò (posing in one of his typical mimic representations), a sort of door that can be crossed by passers-by. It will be at the beginning of via Vergini, with dimensions 7 meters for 4 meters and it will be a luminous portal that will become the real entrance to the district.
The other project involves a bust of Totò conceived by Roberto Leon and built by Salvatore Scuotto, who will donate it to the city in time for the anniversary of April 15th. The Prince will be in suits borghesi, intent on looking out of a window and will be placed at the corner of the building in via SM Antesaecula, where he was born. It will be at eye level so anyone can leave notes.
As for street furniture, they will be put 10 chairs in wood and metal in Largo Vita, around one sculpture visible from the Bridge of Health. They will be surrounded by various types of trees, such as plane trees and willows, which will also act as a "roof", while in Piazza San Severo 15 chairs will be installed on a colored pavement shaded by a magnolia.
Program of the evening
As mentioned, the path will be given by the concert by the Scarlatti Junior Orchestra, directed by Maestro Gaetano Russo, Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità and which will occasionally be interspersed with some presentations. Images relating to the proposals of the Department of Architecture of the Federico II University and the Mobiliarch research group will be shown. In addition, you will be able to get to know the experimental objects of street furniture donated to the District by the ReLEGNO company based on a project by the students of the DBE Master of DiARC, shown by the young people of the same District in a theatrical presentation. The boys will wear the clothes of the Neapolitan designer Susanna Bertolotti.
