Friday 4 November 2022 we celebrate i 285 years from the foundation of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples with an evening in which we will be able to listen to the Cantata for San Gennaro of 1775 by Pasquale Cafaro conducted by José Luis Basso.
In addition, the Teatro San Carlo has also decided to make one special promotion by offering admission to 10 euros in a few days following a fun contest, as we will see in more detail shortly.
The concert to celebrate the San Carlo's birthday
To celebrate this important anniversary, the San Carlo has decided to make a homage to the Patron Saint of Naples re-proposing the Cantata per San Gennaro composed in 1775 by Pasquale Cafaro with Orchestra and Chorus directed by Jose Luis Basso. The master will also conduct two other works rediscovered of the Neapolitan musical '700:
- Dominus said (1771) for choir, organ and orchestra by Pasquale Cafaro;
- Quoniam tu solus sanctus for soprano, oboe concertante, concertante trumpet, bassoon concertante, strings and bass by Giacomo Insanguine;
- in addition to the aforementioned Cantata for the Translation of the Body of the Glorious Martyr San Gennaro for solos, choir, organ and orchestra by Pasquale Cafaro (1775).
As soloists we will listen Laura Ulloa, Clare Polese e Maria Sardaryan, pupils of the San Carlo Theater Academy.
Tickets at 10 euros thanks to special bookmarks
As mentioned, there will be the option of buy tickets for 10 euros. In fact, you can participate in a contest and look for the bookmarks of the San Carlo spread around the city, between bookstores and the center's infopoint. By showing them at the ticket office, you will be entitled to a ticket for the concert for only 10 euros.
