An original guided tour on a sailing boat to discover Vesuvius and the populations that have crossed the sea of the Gulf of Naples
Thanks to the Vesuvio Natura da Esplorare Association we will be able to take an alternative guided tour to discover the imposing Vesuvius that stands out on the Gulf of Naples.
In fact, it will start from the sea on board a sailboat and yes it will coast the coast up to the Lattari Mountains. The departure is at port of Torre Annunziata and, with the guidance of the members of the association, it will be possible to discover the geological history of the Gulf and the events that have made it famous.
We will talk about the crossing of Pliny the Elder, commander of the Roman fleet which, during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, sailed from Miseno to go to the aid of the Vesuvian populations. He will continue narrating the incursions of Saracens and Phoenicians, all from the sea, and the stories of the populations who over the centuries have arrived on the coasts, remaining kidnapped.
We will also talk about myths and we will learn how to to drive a sailboat, with practical tests led by skippers.
There is a lunch break for a packed breakfast and a swim in the waters between Seiano and Vico Equense.

- Difficulty excursion: easy, but being on a sailboat you should pay attention to seasickness, do not drink liquids in the morning before embarking, bring dry food with you and protect yourself from the sun.
