In Positivo, creative engraving laboratory at the Filangieri Museum in Naples

Il February 3, the Filangieri Museum of Naples opens the doors of Agate Room for a laboratory dedicated to the technique of overhang. In collaboration with MUSAICA – experiential events, this event invites i participants to draw inspiration from the rich collection of weapons and armor from the 17th and 18th centuries in the lower hall of the museum.

The target? Reproduce on a copper plate a decoration taken directly from an exposed armour. With the expert guidance of Tiziana Cannavacciuolo, history and art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to approach the art of embossing, combining practice and observation in an atmosphere rich in history and tradition.

The program of the event

Driven by Tiziana Cannavacciuolo, a talented set and costume designer, participants will have the opportunity to learn from an expert in the sector. The event is divided into different stages, each designed to offer a complete and immersive experience:

  • Introduction to the embossed engraving technique: a theoretical overview of the art of embossing. This phase promises to be interesting and engaging, without ever getting boring.
  • Preparation of the support: participants will learn to prepare the support on which they will work, a fundamental step for the success of the engraving.
  • Explanation of materials: a detailed guide to the materials used in the embossing process, to understand the importance of each element in the creation of the work.
  • Running and having fun: the highlight of the workshop, where the participants will put into practice what they have learned, modeling their works under the expert guidance of Tiziana Cannavacciuolo.
  • Aperitif: the day will end with an aperitif based on Neapolitan products, a moment of relaxation and sharing the experiences gained during the workshop.

Not just theory, but above all practical experience
