Il Monumental complex of the Bourbon prison in Irpinia, is ready to welcome the new edition of the event Irpinia Mood Food Festival which will take place from 31 August to 3 September 2023. This is the most important gastronomic festival of this place, which was born with the aim of enhancing the gastronomic and wine-growing excellence of Irpinia, thus making them available to guests.

There will be four days of celebration, full of activities that lovers of good food absolutely cannot miss. Indeed, there will be many Executive, starred and emerging, who will compete in many recipes and which will create special dishes with all the products offered by the land.

The theme of the 2023 edition

"Inventory", this is the theme of the seventh edition of the Irpinia Mood Food festival. A simple word which, however, contains various meanings in it.

In fact, on the one hand we take into consideration food waste and the fight against it and on the other we want to exalt "leftovers", i.e. all those people who want to improve the place where they were born, engaging in changing things and exalting these places that are worth knowing.

the tastings

The program of the event has been thought full of events that will take place from 19:00 to 00:00 over the four days. Guests, especially lovers of good food, will be able to attend the preparation of the dishes by the chefs and at the end you will have the chance to taste them too.

Thanks to the new one Irpinia web app, you will be able to buy a limited number of chefs preview dishes, in order to simplify the tasting procedures during the evenings. To accompany the excellent dishes there will be the wines by the Cantine I Favati and beers by the Ventitré Brewery.

The Talks

On the program, in addition to tastings, also several talk which include the presence of chefs, entrepreneurs, journalists and producers. There will be food for thought on various topics, namely: sustainability, food waste and territory.

  • Carlo Spinelli, gastronomic writer and consultant for TV and radio programs (Masterchef, Rai2, RaiRadio2)
  • Fabio Bucciarelli director of the Niko Romito Academy
  • Marco De Matteis, Chief Executive Officer of De Matteis Agroalimentare Spa
  • Rosanna Petrozziello, wine producer Cantine I Favati
  • Marco Caputi, a Michelin Star to Maeba by Ariano Irpino
  • Alfio Ghezzi, a Michelin Star at the Senso Mart in Rovereto

The Museum

On the occasion of the event, the Irpino Museum will remain exceptionally open until 23pm. You will then have the opportunity to visit the six sections permanent works of the Museum which are located inside the men's pavilions of the prison:
