On the occasion of Expo 2015 in Milan, Pompeii will be presented at the National Museum of Naples from a new point of view!

Great debut of Pompeii at Expo 2015. During the famous universal exhibition, you can appreciate the unparalleled beauty of the world's most famous excavations through inspired masterpieces.

These works of art will be exhibited at the Naples National Archaeological Museum which from 26 May at 2 November 2015 will host the exhibition "Pompei and Europe 1748-1943" curated by the Special Superintendence of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabia, led by Massimo Osama and the director of the Great Project Pompeii, Giovanni Nistri.

Specifically, the review will cover paintings and sculptures influenced by the magnificence of the frescoes, the finds and the ruins of the ancient Roman town. Unpublished works resulting from the inspiration of numerous Italian and European artists, who lived between the 700 and the Second World War. "Sacred" art figures such as De Nittis, Canova, Picasso, Maizois and many others.

In particular, they will be organized three specific sections: beyond the purely artistic stage you can also admire photographic and documentary exhibitions. Three distinct sectors but all with the aim of revealing Pompeii in a different guise.

We will investigate in the Pompeian imaginary, onartistic impact and emotional that colors and details have aroused in human souls over the course of two centuries of history.

Therefore, it will be interesting to compare with the inspired productions modern that will be able to "speak", telling us how the points of view, the Italian and foreign expressive and interpretative modalities have changed through each epoch, according to historical contexts and current ideologies.

Pompeii, our priceless heritage, confirms once again a treasure full of surprises that all envy us.
