Pompeii Street Festival comes with its third edition from 27 June to 2 July 2023. An event that transforms the streets of Pompei, from the ancient city to the excavations, in a stage for the street art, cinema, music, art and photography. The goal is to promote the tourist and socio-economic growth of the city, already a World Heritage Site.
Organized from City of Pompeii in collaboration with Art and Change Social Enterprise, the festival is conceived and produced by the international artist Nello Petrucci. program (still under construction) of the event is divided into five sections dedicated to art, music, street art, cinema and photography, with a focus on issues such as legality, precarious work, social interaction, environmental protection and urban redevelopment.
During the six days of the festival, the city streets and the excavations of the Pompeii Archaeological Park they will host a international short film competition and documentary films on archeology, thematic photographic exhibitions and concerts by artists such as Frankie hi-nrg mc, Planet Funk e Root.
Street Art Tour: International artists and urban redevelopment works
The festival also includes the creation of works by urban redevelopment by street artists from different countries, who will contribute to the Street Art Tour, a new incoming tourist project for the city of Pompeii.
Among the guest artists, they stand out Mr Garek, Se Cordeiro, Good Berlin e Wedo. Each of them brings a unique and original contribution to the festival, through their works which address themes such as the Renaissance, reading, the past and present, and personal identity.
