La Traviata
On the stage of the Teatro San Carlo back on stage one of the most beloved works by the public of all time: La Traviata di Giuseppe Verdi. The opera in three acts on a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave is inspired by the famous novel by Alexadre Dumas son La dame aux camelias, Namely La Signora delle camelie. The story tells oftormented and impossible love between the young Dumas and Marie, one of the most refined and desired courtesans of Paris and died of tisi only 23 years in 1847, a year before the publication of the novel.

The writer Gianrico Carofiglio leads to New Theater of Naples a text taken from his novel of the same name that proposes a literary, political and judicial investigation on the importance of words, addressing quotes from Aristotle, Cicero, Dante, Pirmo Levi, Calvino, but also Obama and Bob Dylan. An interesting result emerges reflection on the use of terms and words, on their function and on the value they have in our ethical and civil life. The Festa di Montevergine
A 21 years since the death of Luisa Conte il Sannazaro Theater reproposes one of his most ambitious artistic productions. The Festa di Montevergine, written by Raffaele Viviani, is the Neapolitan historical show par excellence but it is also one of the biggest parties in Southern Italy. Lara Sansone, grandson of Luisa Conte, returns to the scene with this beloved and engaging show to revive the habits and customs of ancient Naples, the vocabulary of the Neapolitan language, the traditions and the theater of the past, that of the famous playwright Raffaele Viviani.

The show is a project by Luciano Saltarelli that takes its cue from the The Mammasantissima, film by 1979 directed by Alfonso Brescia and starring Mario Merola who played Don Vincenzo Tramontano, a much loved neighborhood ward because he administers the district according to his moral code, on the side of the weak and against the bullies. The theatrical rehabilitation, after forty years after the release of the film and after the birth of the Neapolitan scene, offers a more benevolent and almost abstract look towards the mythical figures, "Plastered in their expressiveness, like the Sicilian puppets or tribal masks".

The protagonist of the story is Alice, a young worker who lives in a rented apartment, inside a skyscraper of 101 pani. Everything changes when the owner intimates her to leave the apartment without motivation, based on unwritten condominium laws. In front of this forced eviction Alice has two choices: continue working and losing the house, because sooner or later someone will come in and will let her find the suitcases made; stay in the apartment and lose your job. The show will make you think about daily injustices suffered by all of us, on the arrogance of power and on the impossibility of man to defend himself against criminal acts against those who are part of a civil society.
