Al MARTE / Mediateca Arte Eventi di Cava de 'Tirreni (Salerno) comes an unmissable exhibition on surrealism, Entitled Joan Miró and the Surrealists. Forms, dreams, power, scheduled from the February 21 to the 20 June 2016.

Most of the masterpieces on display are by the famous painter Joan Mirò, considered the "most surrealist of the surrealists", but they can also be admired graphic and lithographic works of some of the major artists gathered around the Manifesto of Surrealism published by André Breton in the 1924.

The exhibition itinerary, edited by Marco Alfano, retraces one of the most significant cultural movements of the twentieth century, through well 30 graphic works by the Catalan artist Joan Mirò, all made between the XNUMXs and XNUMXs, and from an important Italian private collection: from Centenaire Mourlot (1953) to the lithographs of the series Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry (1966), from the J seriesand travaille comme a jardinier (1963), up to Colpir sense nafrar, Of 1981.

In addition to Mirò's works, which offer an unprecedented point of view on his graphic work and on his creative linguistic process, it will be possible to admire 30 other works by famous surrealist artists, such as Giorgio de Chirico, Salvador Dalí, André Masson, Max Ernst, René Magritte, Hans Bellmer, Roberto Sebastián Matta and Wifredo Lam.

Surrealist workshops for children

To bring even the little ones closer to the extraordinary surrealist movement, they will be organized 15 expressive artistic workshops divided into age groups, starting from 2 years.

So you can discover the techniques and methods of surrealist design, the decomposition of the works, the techniques of grattage and frottage, intaglio, etching techniques, drypoint, etching, intaglio printing.

Special guided tours
