At the Archaeological Museum of Naples the exhibition Myth and Nature with statues, frescoes and luxury objects from the classical world
The exhibition Myth and Nature, designed for Expo 2015 and already appreciated at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, arrives al National Archaeological Museum of Naples from the 16 March 2016 and, at the same time, also at the Amphitheater of Ruins of Pompeii. The public will admire masterpieces of rare beauty that bear witness to the relationship with the natural reality of the Greek, magnogreci and roman artists.
In the Salone della Meridiana of the Museum of Naples will be exhibited about 180 works from Italian and international museums such as the Athens Archaeological Museum, the Kunsthistoriches Museum in Vienna and the Louvre in Paris. Among the pieces on display, dated from the eighth century. BC to the second century. AD, stand out painted vases, votive terracottas, statues, frescoes e luxury items, such as silver and gold jewelery.
Of particular historical and artistic interest are the famous slab coming from the "Tomb of the Diver"And the amphorisk called"Blue vase“, Precious artefact worked in the amazing glass-cameo technique.
In Pompeii, on the other hand, a route will be organized with stages in six domus where you can see the ancient gardens.
The exhibition Myth and Nature, announced by the new director Paolo Giulierini during the press conference of the International Day of the Tourist Guide, is part of a more extensive revitalization project of the Museum Archaeological of Naples. The idea is that of restore luster to the pieces of inestimable value kept here: the first step in this direction will be the reopening of the Egyptian Section and of the two historical gardens of the museum.
