At Royal Palace, in the historic heart of Napoli, an artistic event of exceptional importance is celebrated: the exhibition “Homage to Domenico Morelli”. The event pays tribute to Domenico Morelli, one of the most influential Italian painters of the second half of early nineteenth century, precisely on the bicentenary of his birth.

The exhibition is not just an exhibition of Morelli's works, but a real one dialogue between past and present, where artistic tradition meets contemporary innovation.

The exhibition "Homage to Domenico Morelli” is a one-of-a-kind celebration. Hosted in Royal Chapel of the Royal Palace of Naples, it presents not only the works of the master Morelli, but also those of nine contemporary figurative painters.

The new creations, created specifically for the event, are exhibited in parallel with the work “Virgin assumed into heaven among choirs of angels”, a masterpiece by Morelli dating back to 1870. The latter, set in the ceiling of the Chapel, thus becomes the fulcrum of an intriguing comparison between the ancient and the modern. The exhibition, curated by Fausto Minervini in collaboration with Selene Salvi, will be open to the public until 13 February.
