celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Consortium for the Protection of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana Dop some special postcards and a philatelic cancellation affixed to them by the Philately Division of Poste Italiane.
The Consortium was founded on July 13, 1981 and this initiative wants to celebrate the four decades since its foundation. The buffalo mozzarella from Campania received the European recognition of the DOP, which certifies that it is "of protected origin" and is the only mozzarella on the market to have obtained it.
These 40 years, therefore, are yet another milestone that recognizes the excellence of this product.
The limited edition postcards and the philatelic cancellation
For this occasion, they were chosen 6 subjects shown on special postcards that tell the historical-artistic beauties of the areas where buffalo mozzarella is produced and also have the purpose of enhancing both the places and the product. The areas considered are those of Campania, lower Lazio, the province of Foggia and the municipality of Venafro.
Another series focuses only on mozzarella and the last one depicts the stylized map of the entire DOP area.
