The new Museo Cartastorie in Naples with thousands of documents on the history of the city and a permanent multimedia path!

Opens in Naples, the 31 March 2016, the Cartastorie, multimedia museum in the Archives of the Banco di Napoli Foundation. It is located inside the Palazzo Ricca, dating back to the 500s, and contains more than a billion documents that tell us the history of Naples of the last five hundred years.

It is a real journey in the card through 6 installations of the so-called Kaleidos project: a multisensory path, in Italian and English, which will make us relive the history of the city through stories that can be extrapolated from payment receipts.

In all the papers and documents you can find them lives of commoners and important personalities, contained in 17 millions of names and more than 500 years of history. For example, one can discover that the famous Veiled Christ of San Severo Chapel cost 500 ducati, or you can browse an original pop-up book with three-dimensional pages that reveal how the precious stones of the San Gennaro miter were purchased.

All the documents contained in the Cartastorie museum have been selected to tell precise stories and lives that best characterize the identity of Naples.
THEadmission will be free for everyone for the first two months of opening, then until May 31 2016.
