The Peppe Servillo Trio will be staged at Le Cirque Naples with Fútbol, a show that tells about life and South American football through music
Peppe Servillo, brother of actor Toni, is a multifaceted artist who ranges from music to acting, boasting numerous collaborations in the film and theater fields, and has recently created a very special show-concert.
It is Soccer, a theatrical piece that combines the world of great jazz with that of fiction and which will be staged on May 4th at Le Cirque Naples, theater born from the roots of the first historic café-chantant in Italy opened in 1890.
Fútbol was created by Peppe Servillo together with the Argentines Javier Girotto e Natalio Mangalavite, two of the most talented musicians in South America. The project was born thanks to the writings of Osvaldo Soriano, one of the most important South American writers of the twentieth century who, in his stories, was able to describe and denounce the violence of power in Argentina, including in all his writings his passion for football.
And it is from this aspect of his novels that Peppe Servillo Trio has decided to leave for his show. Rich in jazz songs and inspired above all by the book Fútbol - Football stories, by Soriano, the intent of the work is to "Musically narrating that Latin American world of football of twenty, thirty years ago, beyond jazz, fishing in the tradition of Argentine and South American music in general".
Swinging between the sense of football as a metaphor of life, often exploited to obtain a personal ransom against so many injustices, and that of pure fun, mixed with lightheartedness, Fútbol tells life stories common through the use of songs. In this way we will be able to live the joys, the disappointments, loves, the disagreements, the team spirit, thesolo of the fantasist, selfishness, victory and defeat of many characters, perhaps very similar to us.
